Project - Fire Testing Laboratory

NBB Rail’s Project Team were asked to provide the complete EC&I needed on this project.

Work initially began on the design for the electrical installation producing detailed Amtech cable calculations for all plant and equipment  including all the critical Burning Rigs, Extraction Systems and Fire Test equipment.

The Lighting design was completed by NBB Rail in house design team using Dialux, producing detailed calculations, allowing for accurate  co-ordination of the lighting installation. A lighting control system was also incorporated throughout the project to be the client’s  requirement.

An in depth understanding of the specification was crucial to ensure all UKAS conformities were adhered to for all plant and equipment.  Once the design was finalised, it was then passed on to the NBB Rail installation team who completed all on-site works including testing  and commissioning.

On this project there was also the requirement for NBB Rail to incorporate the new test lab with the existing Fire Alarm System. This section  was handed to the dedicated NBB fire team who then designed, installed and commissioned the system.

All certification for each section of works was completed by each of NBB Rail’s discipline leads and Qualifying Supervisors.
