The East Anglia TWO project is a key part of Britain’s renewable energy future and national grid upgrade. Delivered by Taylor Woodrow for ScottishPower Renewables, this development supports the UK’s transition to net zero by enabling clean offshore wind energy to be transmitted to homes and businesses across the country.
As part of this NBB Rail have designed and built the full temporary site compound MEP package including 3D modelling of the site. Undertaken detailed load calculations for future use and provided commercial justification for a capital spend on renewable technology.
Following approval, we have designed and built a bespoke photo voltaic system with battery storage allowing the hybrid inverters to control generator running and reduce diesel spend. There are 420 x 455w Aiko solar panels on site supplying 5 x 50Kw three phase inverters and 0.5MwH of battery storage. This allows the site to run solely on renewable energy for approx. 5 months a year and lowers generator run times to less than 20 Hours per week (estimated) even in the middle of winter.
Developing the scope for the compound with Taylor Woodrow we have designed and built:
